Katie Haugh is a USDF Certified Instructor, a USDF Bronze and Silver medalist, and a Virginia State Certified teacher.

Katie’s love of horses started at a very young age. She took weekly lessons at a small local hunter jumper barn.  Her family purchased their first horse when Katie was 8 years old. Soon after she joined her local Pony Club where she eventually earned her C-3 rating. During her time in Pony Club Katie gained experience in a variety of disciplines- eventing, jumpers, combined test, and dressage.  In her twenties Katie changed her focus to dressage, and traveled to Etten-Leur, Holland to complete a working student internship.

After working abroad Katie returned to complete her education at Shepherd University and received a Bachelors in Education. She was then hired by LCPS as a third grade teacher, but kept riding and training horses part time. In addition to riding for clients, Katie also ran a successful summer camp at Grey Goose Farm for young children, as well as, a small lesson program.

Throughout Katie’s career, she has trained with some of the most noted names in the equestrian community, including:

  • FEI Rider/Trainer/Writer, Felicitas von Neumann-Cosel

  • USDF Gold Medalist, Mary Flood
  • German FEI “I” Judge, Christoph Hess
  • Danish Olympian, Lars Peterson
  • The former head of the Spanish Riding School, Monolo Mendez
  • Europe at Dressuurstal Van Bedaf in Etten-Leur Holland with Grand Prix Rider Hans van Bedaf
  • British Olympian, Jeremy Beale

Her diverse background allows her to incorporate different training techniques into a well rounded program that is individualized for each client. Katie is a thoughtful trainer who takes the time to tune in to the horse, find the best approach, and incorporate the most effective method to communicate with each individual horse. In addition, her patient and methodical teaching style allows her to bring the equestrian expertise she holds to all of her training clients.

Corinne Foxley

Corinne Foxley started her equine education in Salt Lake City, UT with MaryLee Brighton, a trainer who specializes in starting mustangs adopted from the BLM and turning them into hunter/jumper and riding prospects.  Corinne learned all the basics of natural horsemanship from her years with MaryLee. She had the opportunity to start horses in the round pen which gave her a good feel for reading and understanding the body language of the horse.  While at Brighton Meadows, she also rode and competed hunter/jumper.

While attending Virginia Tech University and earning a degree in Animal Poultry Science with the intention to attend Veterinary School, Corinne worked for a KWPN breeder.  Corinne was responsible for starting and riding the young horses. She also worked as the show groom for the head trainer at the farm. Here she gained yet more experience starting horses but was able to learn more about upper level competition as the show groom for the head trainer.

Following college Corinne worked as a riding instructor in DC at Rock Creek Park Horse Center while also working at Howard University assisting in neuroscience research at the Howard University Medical School.  While at Rock Creek Park Horse Center, Corinne taught riders of all ages and levels and was challenged with finding the best techniques for each individual. Rock Creek Park Horse Center enabled Corinne to be more sensitive and creative in her teaching skills.

During her time at Rock Creek Park Horse Center, Corinne was offered the opportunity to work with Felicitas von Neumann-Cosel.  She took on a working student position at First Choice Farm that was only supposed to be a two year commitment. After several years however, Corinne became the Assistant Trainer and worked for Felicitas for 10 years.  Her time with Felicitas gave her new insight into what dressage and true balance of the horse and rider really is. Corinne was able to obtain her Bronze and Silver Medals under the tutelage and help from Felicitas. Under the wing of Felicitas, Corinne was able to gain a better understanding of showing and competing at the FEI level and the grit it takes to be successful.

During her time at First Choice Farm, Corinne took a short leave to work in Europe with Uta Graf at her farm in Kircheimbolandon, Germany.  There she was able to train with Uta and expand her classical knowledge even further.

Throughout this, Corinne has also built a family of her own.  She lives with her very supportive husband Jason, and her two young boys, Henry and Austin.

Testimonials

“An individual’s riding goals can seem out of reach at times. But at Beaux Rêves, I was able to see beyond my goals. Corinne and Katie offer horse training in addition to riding instruction so that horse and rider are each given the chance to learn and do their best, and goals become more achievable. Beaux Rêves is fun! There are so many different things you can try within your own riding discipline. Corinne and Katie create unique activities to enjoy your horse on and off the farm.”

Denise

“I have worked with Beaux Reves for several years with different horses. I find their method to be structured, well-planned and always in the best interest of the horse and rider. Corinne and Katie are dedicated to keeping the owner apprised of progress, findings and the path forward for the horse. I have had exceptional results with Beaux Reves and would definitely recommend them to anyone!”

Pamela

“I started working with Corinne and Katie (or Beaux Reves, if you prefer) because I purchased a young horse and needed a training program that would give him what he needs to actualize his full potential and accommodate my busy professional life. I admit to being picky about care one training for my furry friends, and happily do not worry at Beaux Reves. Corinne and Katie are exceptional horse people with the knowledge and work ethic necessary for success.”

Anne

“They took my young horse on short notice and have taken excellent care of him. I wished his training to proceed slowly due to his immaturity and as it turned out his medical issues. I am pleased with his progress.”

Barbara

“I sent my 3 year old to be broke out at BRE. During the time there they cared for him through a health scare in which I was unable to see or visit him. They treated him as if he was their own and provided him top notch care throughout. I cannot express how much that meant to me as a horse owner who considers my animals my children. They were able to break him out in a short duration and he has recently returned as a four year old for more training. Both Corrine and Katie are excellent communicators, they both understand my end goals as an amateur rider and work with him to help match his potential with my goals. Thank you BRE!”

Julie

“L Graduate with Distinction that has judged regularly for Beaux Reves and Trainer of Client that competed in a Beaux Reves Schooling Show. Thoroughly enjoyable on both fronts. Friendly and organized competitions that really puts the riders’ needs first. As a trainer I can say it is a very positive experience for a newcomer to competition; and as a judge, very enjoyable and well-run competitions.”

Joanna

“The trainers at Beaux Rêves Equestrian are extremely qualified, knowledgeable, and dynamic teachers. The one-on-one focused lessons and attention to detail enable both horse and rider to grow together. Their camps for kids are great, and their summer schooling shows are in a convenient location with a welcoming atmosphere.”

Abby

“Dedicated team of horsewomen who can help with all facets of training and competition.”

Linda

“Very experienced trainers and instructors. Focus is both rider and horse. Plus it is a fun experience!”
